Four smugglers excrete 171 wraps of cocaine

                            
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has apprehended four suspected drug traffickers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos for attempting to smuggle cocaine to Brazil.

It was learnt that the suspects ─ Ejiofor Eliezer (46), Obah Francis (30), Akpa Sobuzochukwu (27) and 36-year-old Ike Okechukwu ─ excreted 171 wraps of drug that tested positive for cocaine.

discovery was made during the screening of passengers on board Qatar and Emirates airlines.

Eliezer, who excreted 100 wraps of the drug, told investigators that poverty pushed him to commit the crime, adding that he had intended to use the expected proceed to fend for his family of four.

Bello Dominic bags 1 year in jail

                             
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has secured a one-year jail term for an Internet fraudster, Bello Dominic Oizamisi, for allegedly obtaining money by false pretense.

The verdict was handed down to the convict by Justice Sabiu Yahuza of the Federal High Court, Dutse, Jigawa State, after he was found guilty of defrauding one Abdul-Azeez Abdul-Rahman of the sum of N100,000 meant to be used for the registration, auction papers and clearance of a car.
According to the EFCC, Oizamisi had posed as a car dealer on the Internet where he posted a car for sale.
Abdul-Rahman had shown interest in buying the car and in the course of negotiation, the convict allegedly demanded from Abdul-Rahman the said sum.

The money was wired to him through his account in one of the new generation banks but after an endless wait for the car to be delivered, it dawned on the victim that he had been scammed.

Hence, he petitioned the EFCC. The anti-grant agency swung into action and got him arrested.

Nigerian man sentenced to death in Indonesia for drug trafficking

                            
A district court sitting in Tangerang, Jakartar in Indonesia has sentenced a Nigerian man, Simon Ezeaputa, to death following charges of drug trafficking.
According to Indonesian media, Simon, who is currently serving a 20 year jail term for offenses bothering on drug trafficking, was found guilty of running a drug cartel while in prison. He is accused to have recently engaged in a drug transaction that involved 350 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Simon's death sentence brings to 13 the number of Nigerians currently on death row in Indonesia for drug trafficking offenses.
Nigerian government has constantly appealed to the Indonesian government for clemency and prisoner exchange so that those who are on death row in Indonesia can come back home to serve jail terms rather than be executed, a request the Indonesian government has failed to answer, maintaining that the Nigerians are adult enough to bear the consequences of their actions as they are aware that drug related offences in Indonesia comes with death sentences when caugh

Married Mother-Of-Three Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Multiple Students

                         

A former Kansas elementary school teacher has been arrested this week and charged with child s3x crimes. Kourtnie A. Sanchez, 25, was arrested Monday on charges including electronic solicitation, unlawful sexual relations, solicitation of unlawful sexual relations and three counts of promoting obscenity to a minor.
Sanchez - who is believed to be a mother-of-three - was a student teacher at Marshall Elementary School in Eureka during the fall 2014 semester.

Prosecutors allege her victims were aged between 15 and 17, and that the alleged incidents occurred over five months in 2014. However it is unclear how many victims she molested. She is currently out of jail on a $50,000 bond and her preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 8.

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the reappointment of Dr. Olatunde Aworanti as the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, National Business and Technical Examinations Board for second term of four years.In a statement on Tuesday, the board said that the reappointment, which took effect from February 14, 2015, was in accordance with the Section 6(1) and (3) of the NABTEB Act 70, 1993.It described Aworanti as a silent achiever, a result-oriented educational administrator and a humble leader with a knack for diligence and excellence.
It added that the registrar was initially appointed by the president on the February 14, 2011 before his present reappointment.
The statement noted that the registrar started his career in education administration as a science teacher in Oyo State in 1984 and was later engaged as a lecturer at the Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun.
It read in part,” He joined the National Business and Technical Examinations Board as a principal research officer and an acting head, monitoring, research and statistics in 1996. Fellow Nigerians, I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections. I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.

Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.

The Peoples Democratic Party has said it will challenge the outcome of the March 28 presidential election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, through its Chairman and Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on Wednesday morning, declared Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.)‎ of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the election.
The PDP through its agent at the National Collation Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, when the final result was declared, had refused to sign the result sheet despite its candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, having earlier conceded defeat.

Orubebe apologizes for his behaviour at collation centre yesterday, says he regrets it

           


Former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Elder Godsday Orubebe has apologised for his behaviour at the collation centre in Abuja yesterday morning. Speaking with reporters last night, the PDP party agent, who held up proceedings and used abusive words on Jega, said he regretted his action and asked Nigerian to forgive his behaviour.

”Election is a passionate thing and I really regret what took place this morning. I was unnecessarily pushed by Jega to get to that level. I want to apologise particularly to young Nigerians that look up to take politics as a career to say that what happened was
not intended to cause them any embarrassment.
To Nigerians generally, I regret my actions as even an elder in the church, and a leader, the young men expected to see a lot from me and I believe that if there was any disappointment they got from me I apologize to Nigerians and to the youths of this country.”
